REPSOL – MONTESA HRC REPORT Toni Bou still leads the general classification after finishing in third position.
Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) is still leading the general classification of the Spanish Trial Championship after finishing third in the second scoring event, held this Sunday. On a simple track without any great difficulty, the Montesa rider did not have the chance recover the two points lost at the beginning of the event. We must remember that regulations for riders in the TR1 category (equivalent to the former Senior A) applied this year in the Spanish Championship, rule that they must pass through each of the fifteen zones twice consecutively before moving on to the next.
Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished fourteenth in TR2 (formerly Senior B category).
Toni Bou: “There’s not much to say, we knew we had come to compete in an event without a high level of selectivity and we were aware that with these conditions the most difficult thing would be to recover points if any mistake was made. And that was exactly what happened to me, I made a couple of small mistakes and had no chance to neutralise them in the next zones. The best thing I can say is that I’m still leading the championship”.
The next Spanish Trial Championship event will take place on May 18th in Morella (Castellón).
