LS HONDA RACING
Dutch hat trick for Ken De Dycker!

Honda CRF450R mounted Ken De Dycker dominated both MX1 races at the final round of the Dutch Open Motocross Championship today in Mill. It was De Dycker’s third overall victory out of the three meetings in the Dutch series he took part in. The fast Belgian was accompanied on the podium by countryman Marvin Van Daele, Ronnie Van Rooij came third.

Ken De Dycker

Until the end of the nineties Circuitpark ‘De Kuilen’ was a regular GP venue on the World Championship calendar, but the organising club MSC Mill continues to play an important role in the Dutch Championship often hosting the traditional final round. However it was exactly here where the Dutch Championship kicked off last year when De Dycker claimed a double win.

After posting the fastest lap in qualifying De Dycker continued to lead the pack in both motos. In the opening sprint Ken didn’t have a great start, but he quickly made his way to the front. De Dycker would lead every single lap of the race and crossed the line ahead of Van Rooij and Reijnders. Again Keeno got off to a slow start in the second moto. Still he was able to climb the leaderboard swiftly, from 7th on the opening lap De Dycker moved into third behind Van Daele. Once he passed Van Daele the LS Honda Racing rider pushed on to close the gap with Evgeny Bobryshev. By half race distance Ken had drawn up to ‘Bobby’ and made the pass. Stamping his authority on the affair the 27-year-old pulled away to create a big lead over Bobryshev and Van Daele. Finally De Dycker backed off and controlled the moto to score his second win of the day.

Ken De Dycker: "It was cool to win here again but in terms of riding it could have been better. I haven’t been riding a lot lately and I felt a bit stiff on the bike. My riding in the first moto was somewhat tense. Because I didn’t feel comfortable with the suspension we made some adjustments for the second moto. That helped a lot. I had a bad jump from the gate but my speed was a lot better this time. After I passed Bobryshev I did some fast laps because I didn’t want to take too much risks I didn’t push till the end. Overall it was a nice day."

YAMAHA VAN BEERS RACING TEAM
Petar Petrov third in final standings Dutch Open Championship

Petar Petrov of the Yamaha van Beers Racing Team finished third in the final standings of the Dutch Open Championship Series. Petar started the last race in Mill only one point behind the third place rider in the championship. In practice he felt at home on the circuit and managed to set the third fastest time.

In the first moto he took a not so good start and at the end of the first lap he came by start/finish in seventh position. During the race he worked himself back up to third position. At that moment the two leaders were already too far gone so he had to be satisfied with third position. After the first moto Petar had taken over third position in the championship standings.

In the second moto his start wasn’t so good and this time he had to come back from outside of the top ten. In the beginning of the race he worked himself back up to sixth position. His charge through the field came to an end because of a crash. He dropped back to 24th position and had to give everything he got to come back trough the field. In the middle of the race he was already in ninth position and after a strong end of the race he crossed the finish line in seventh position. With these results he finished fourth overall and this was enough to finish in third position in the championship.

Herjan Brakke had a difficult day in Mill. In practice things were going well for the newly-crowned Dutch Champion and he set the third fastest time. In the first moto he came out of the first lap in seventh position. In the beginning of the race he worked himself back up to fourth position and started to put the pressure on the third place rider. Just when he was riding at the rear wheel of the third place rider he made a mistake and crashed and had to be satisfied with fifth position.

In the second moto he started the race in fifth position. Unfortunately he made a small crash and dropped back to ninth position. Herjan started a charge back through the field and two laps later he had already worked himself back up to seventh position. In the middle of the race he moved into fifth position but the fourth place rider was already too far gone so he had to be satisfied with fifth position again.

Overall he finished in fifth position in Mill.

Ceriel Klein Kromhof
Bad luck for Ceriel Klein Kromhof in the Dutch Open in Mill

Ceriel Klein Kromhof of the CKK JR Honda Team has had bad luck in the final round of the Dutch Open Championship MX1 Series in Mill. In the first moto he stalled his bike twice and because of this he finished the race in eleventh position. In the second moto he was forced to retire from the race because of a mechanical problem.

The day in Mill started with bad luck. In practice his bike stopped at the back end of the circuit. Ceriel walked back to the pits and went back out on the track on his spare bike. The rider from Daarlerveen still had ten minutes to put a fast lap together. This went really well because he rode a perfect lap and set the second fastest time.

In the first moto he took a good start but in the second corner he almost crashed and lost a few positions. During the first lap he got another setback because he stalled his bike and dropped back to the back of the field. Ceriel started a charge back trough the field and passed one rider after another. Despite the fact that he stalled his bike another time he still managed to finish the race in eleventh position.

Ceriel was motivated to do well in the second moto. He took a good start and in the beginning of the race he worked himself up to fifth position. Unfortunately disaster struck in the third lap because he got a mechanical problem and was forced to retire from the race.

It was a day to forget for Ceriel. In the winter period he will work on his weak points to start the 2012 season strong.
