Great Britain Cross Country Series - Round 2

After the stunning start at Matchams Park in mid February to the UK’s highest profile race series, The GBXC, the organisers are pleased and proud to present the final details for the rest of the series.

Round two will take place in Monmouth on MAY 4th at a superb venue with great parking and two moto cross tracks linked by some small pieces of woodland. Paul Edmondson has viewed the venue and informed Steve Ireland that it will fit in nicely within the GBXC schedule.

All of the rounds will get the same awesome TV coverage that Round 1 fairly received and raised the awareness of XC racing around the UK. Literally hundreds of thousands of viewers tuned into the GBXC on telly and saw the world’s best off road rider David Knight take a well-earned victory from Jason Thomas.

The Pro line-up at the first round was simply unbelievable with a complete who’s who in the British enduro and offroad scene, so too was the rest of the field - entries for all the remaining three rounds are expected to fill quickly.

David Knight will once again be present at round 2 although Jason Thomas (runner up at rd 1) will no longer be competing in the series as he will be residing in Canada for the foreseeable future.

The 3 to count from 4 series moves to near Oswestry for Round 3 and then on to Kent for the final round.

All of these venues have been selected and planned carefully to ensure that the riders, the TV company, the spectators and most of important of all, the sport itself comes out on top with a winning formula to an awesome championship.

With 2009 promising a much bigger and comprehensive series, exciting times lie ahead for the UK’s cross country riders as this championship grows in strength not just stature.
