The Welsh Trail Riders Association have regrettably been forced to cancel this weekend’s Snowrun Enduro due to snow which has fallen today in Crychan Forest.

UPDATE:WOR have just advised us that the event tomorrow (Sunday 5th February) is on!!!
With rain and warmer conditions forecast WOR expect the forest to be fine for the 11.30 start tomorrow...
However PLEASE check www.worevents.com at 7am in the morning when a final decision will be announced! Looking good though...
After having a very good response to their e-mail newsletter which went out yesterday (see below) WOR Events confirm some changes to the race classes with immediate effect.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR THIS WEEKEND’S COMING ROUND 1 WOR WILL BE RUNNING BOTH RACES TOGETHER AS A PRECAUTION AGAINST THE COLD WEATHER!
BOTH RACES WILL START COMBINED AT 11.30AM.
This decision has been taken to allow a chance of a defrost with the 2 hour later start time and it also stops the early morning activity in the woods for the staff and customers in the dark in cold conditions.
If the weather stays the same as now a 9.30am start would be daft.
Please note this is for this race only and the rest of the year will go as planned with the 2 race format.. So remember, 11.30am start for all classes this Sunday.

NICK KOUWENBERG ON THE FACTORY TM

Dutchman Nick Kouwenberg and the Italian Andrea Cervellin are team-mates this year in the SKS Polned TM Factory Team. Both riders will go out in the World Championship MX2 Series. Nick Kouwenberg is currently in Holland and is busy testing the TM machine. The rider from Elshout is really enthusiastic about the bike and feels himself really comfortable. Motocrossplanet visited Nick during a practice session in Almere recently.

Mika, who had only recently announced his retirement from the sport, died of internal injuries sustained during a practice crash in Spain.

The ACU Trials and Enduro Committee have announced that, following a review of the 2011 Championship at a recent Trials and Enduro Committee meeting when the Championship results were reviewed and considered because of issues with the rules of the Championship along with the cancellation / rescheduling of rounds, it has been decided that for the 2011 season that both Jason Fraser and David Brick would be declared as joint Champions for 2011 after winning four rounds each.
The Trials and Enduro Committee have also made amendments to the rules for 2012 and will shortly be issuing these along with the dates for next year’s championship.

SUZUKI - TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF MOTOGP RACING

Suzuki Motor Corporation has decided to suspend temporarily its participation in FIM Road Racing Grand Prix MotoGP from 2012.
This suspension is to cope with tough circumstances mainly caused by the prolonged recession in developed countries, a historical appreciation of Japanese Yen and repeated natural disasters.
Having an eye to returning to MotoGP in 2014, Suzuki will now focus on developing a competitive new racing machine for that class.
Suzuki will continue motocross racing activity and support of road racing activities using mass-produced motorcycles, by obtaining FIM homologation and co-operation with the supplier of its development racing kit parts.
